Polka Dots

When Christian Dior dressed his New Look models in polka dots back in the fifties, Vogue proclaimed it as a “direct, unblushing plan to make women extravagantly, romantically, eyelash-battingly female”. Starlets like Marilyn Monroe and Catherinr Denueve embraced the trend and suddenly the trademark monochrome became synonymous to femininity and nonchalant elegance.
The classic print saw a revival on the Spring/Summer ’17 catwalk and by the look of it the polka revival is not going anywhere. The cold weather is indeed the perfect time to add a touch of colour and nostalgic beauty to your wardrobe in the form of a dotted printed blouse or ruffled dress.
